Transnistria

The last new country for today is Transnistria, which has been recognized by only a few countries, yet it claims the territory between the river Dniester and the border to Ukraine. The postcard was sent from Bender, where Transnistria has de facto administrative control. With such great stamps and cancellations these two (yes, two!) postcards are a real treat for postcard collectors as well as a real challenge!

I got this postcard from Antananarivo, Madagascar and Soafara sent it, who actually lives there. The postcard shows an everyday fishing scene on the sea in Anakao. Nice stamps and excellent cancellation!

The next new country is quite close to Hungary; it's the Republika Srpska, which is the Serbian part of Bosnia. The capital city is Banja Luka and this is where Aleksandra sent this postcard from!

The next postcard came from Saudi Arabia and features the Jeddah Hilton, which is a top hotel in Riyadh. The postcard was actually sent from Riyadh, and although it creased a bit, it arrived safe and sound and with a clear cancellation, too!
