Newest mail: 10 August, 2011

Perhaps you remember that my very first mail from Singapore was not a very successful one considering that it was a blank envelope with a self-adhesive instead of stamps. Now, this one is a real treat! Not only the stamps and the cancellation are of excellent quality, but the postcard itself was made of two "Hong baos", which are red envelopes presented at social and family gatherings such as the Lunar New Year. Why are they red? Well, red colour symbolizes good luck and is supposed to ward off evil spirits! Well, honestly, I definitely feel lucky to have such a beautiful postcard! :) As for the evil spirits... even if there had been any around, now I don't have to worry about them either... :)
