With a population of about 500 people, Cocos Island is an extremely difficult place to get a postcard from. Even more challenging to get a postcard directly from the maker of it! J. G. Clunies-Ross is the "clam god" of the island and the postcard was written and made by him. It shows Port Refuge on Direction Island and there are both Australian and Cocos Islands stamps on the back featuring a royal visit on the island in 1954. The postcard was sent from the island on 21st June 2011 and the cancellation is exceptionally clear to see.
You've shared the Postcard. It's really great. And you have provided information about the Postcard that is really very important. Thank you so much for this
