This letter was posted in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, no stamps were used, only a self-adhesive shows the details of posting. I hope to get a proper postcard with nice stamps from there soon!
Although it took quite a while to get here, I finally got this letter from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Inside the envelope I found four beautiful postcards:
This shows immortal friendship.
This one shows Bouddha Mandala.
This is quite obvious... the photo was taken from Kalapatthar...
And the last one shows Pashupatinath Temple in the evening during Aarati Puja. Thanks to Rajana!
I got two postcards from the Czech Republic in the past couple of weeks. This one is from Plzen but it features a nice fortress in Breznice. Thanks to Aneta for it!
The other postcard was sent by myself from Prague when I was going through the city. We only had one day to spend there and have a look around before going on to Berlin and other places in Germany.
This nice black and white postcard came from Hong Kong and it features the traditional Tin Hau Festival. She is the goddess of the sea and is believed to protect fishermen and sailors from the dangers of the sea. Thanks to Stephy for the postcard and the nice stamp on it!
This postcard was posted on 23rd August, 2011 in the tiny country of Luxembourg. It features some of the historical sights of the country. Nice stamp and cancellation. Thanks to Sandra!
This other postcard came from another great postcard collector, Glenn, whose blog you can find here. The postcard came from Airdrie, but it features the Calgary Stampede, a rodeo exhibition, which is the greatest outdoor show on earth! Did you know that? Thank you, Glenn!
I'm really proud of this postcard as it came from a great postcard collector, Johan Ockerman, whose blog you can find here. The postcard itself shows St Pieters Kerk in Leuven, the capital of Flemish Brabant. Thanks Johan!
The next postcard came from the most populous city in the Philippines, Quezon City named after a former president of the country. It shows the famous Masskara Festival in Bacolod City. Excellent postcard, as it has nice description of the picture, lots of lines from the sender, beautiful stamps and clear cancellation on the back. Many-many thanks to Maerose!
This postacard came from Malaysia and features a very special festival, the Thaipusam. As you can see in the picture, these acts of self-abnegation are not to be tried out at home... Beautiful stamps and clear cancellation. Thanks for Pfang for this unique postcard!
The next postcard came from Lisboa, the capital city of Portugal. And what an amazing postcard it is! It shows two of those famous trams in Lisbon that take tourists through the oldest parts of the city. Nice stamp and cancellation; thanks, Ricardo!
I hadn't had a postcard from Finland until some days ago and suddenly two postcards arrived one after the other. The more recent came from Porvoo, and it suggests good atmosphere with that bottle of wine. Well, I've been to Finland several times but the best drink I've ever drunk there is Lakka. It is made by soaking cloudberry in alcohol. Well, I saw cloudberry bushes in one of the islands there and they are beautiful. No wonder it has its place on one of the Finnish euro coins.
This other postcard was sent a few days earlier and it shows nice sailing boats in a Finnish bay. It was sent from Helsinki, the capital city of Finland and there are a few self-adhesive stamps on it.
I sent this postcard from a journey to Germany in August. We were in Spreewald, too, having a boat ride and eating the well-known gherkin of the region. It was also nice to have a look around in the open-air museum with a German guide. As for this postcard, it was hard to find a place to post the letter from there, so I took it all the way to Berlin and sent it from there. There is the usual flower definitive there with a clear cancellation.
This postcard was sent from an English Postcrosser, Brian, from Bournemouth. It shows the sandy beach of the city with lots of tourists in the summer. There are two definitives and a 1st class stamp on the back with a hardly legible cancellation.
Long time, no hear... Never mind, at least now I have loads of new postcards to upload. To start with, here's one from Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. I shows the University of Physical Culture and a bit of the city itself. The cancellation is OK on the two stamps featuring wildlife.
